Extensive English for Business Leaders Programs
Extensive programs, usually involving a minimum of one training session per week, enable a more gradual improvement over time.
Extensive training can be particularly effective as participants have the opportunity to apply new language and skills to their jobs between sessions. Extensive sessions can also provide “just-in-time” English support for special projects or events as they arise.
Recent examples where we have worked with participants on an extensive basis include:
- a Finance Manager in line for promotion needed to upgrade his English proficiency within six months. We worked with him on a weekly basis, simulating situations he would likely be involved in his future job, to help him develop the required English and confidence to succeed in his new role.
- a CEO of the Japanese subsidiary of a British multi-national needed to upgrade his overall level of English proficiency, particularly for presenting to senior management in the UK. We worked with him over a two-year period, providing ongoing English development and “just-in-time” support for his presentations.
- a group of three Clinical Auditors working for a European pharmaceutical company need to start conducting clinical audits across Asia. We worked with the participants for three hours per session, twice a week, over a twelve week period, to prepare them for this new challenge.
- a Sales Manager about to be transferred to Europe, needed to be ready to make sales calls across the company’s European markets. We worked with him over a period of six weeks, refining his sales pitch in English, and upgrading his overall capability in English.
