Intensive English for Business Leaders Programs
Intensive programs allow the participants to be immersed in the language, and enable a bigger improvement in a shorter space of time.
Intensive programs can also be inherently motivating; by giving participants an immediate boost and a “can do” feeling, participants are spurred on to study and improve more.
Recent examples where we have worked with businesspeople on an intensive basis include:
- a Marketing Director at a global pharmaceutical organization had received a promotion which would involve him reporting to Asia-Pacific Regional Management. Having previously only worked in a domestic capacity, he had had very little experience of using English in a business environment. He completed a four week, full-time program with us to give his English the required boost to manage English speaking situations more effectively in his new role.
- a Business Unit Head who had recently joined a foreign multinational food and beverage company needed a quick solution to prepare him for a business trip to the company’s headquarters in Europe. Whilst he had been using English in his previous job, he felt the need to upgrade his skills in his more challenging new role. We worked with him for two weeks polishing his skills in preparation for his trip.
- a Finance Director in a chemicals company needed to build her confidence before taking part in an internal leadership assessment centre. She wanted to be sure she could contribute proactively to discussions and express her opinions/ ideas clearly. We worked with her for one day to prepare for this challenge.
